Who is A Person of Walmart?
I am Lacey Jolley, current resident of Idaho, and investigator of the inner workings of Walmart. I am no stranger to superfluous change, stumbling around in my mid-twenties, as well as a student, newlywed, and employee of Walmart (hired September 2015).
- Resident of Idaho. I have lived in Idaho since January 2015. Before then, it was Ohio, Indiana, Utah, and Kentucky. And my husband and I are hoping to add Nevada to my list in a few years, after we both finish our undergraduate degrees of course. (English major here!) The most important thing to know about Idaho? The winters are brutally cold.
- Newlywed. Marriage is wonderful! My husband, Duncan, and I were married December 2015, so it’s safe to say that we’re still trying to get everything situated. But when you embark on the journey that is adulthood, take your best friend with you! And don’t forget to bring snacks.
- Walmart Employee. Observing the behind the scenes of the Waltons’ handiwork has completely changed my perspective on the company, as well as retail in general. I understand the pains of customers wreaking havoc, coworkers dwelling in a state of irrepressible irritation, and of course the reason why we’ve all seen the pictures titled “People of Walmart.” The stereotypes are real, people.
